Institutional trust and emergency preparedness: Perceptions of Covid 19 crisis management in Sweden

The Covid 19 pandemic has put the issue of public trust at centre political analysis. This article inquires into level in Sweden concerning current crisis management as well preparedness for future crises. empirical basis this study consists unique data generated through two surveys on virus conducted during 2020 Sweden. Respondents were asked to assess their different actors' management. In addition, first survey about how actions actors impact forward-oriented held Swedish emergency a severe crisis. Four key findings stand out. First, results display rather weak levels interpersonal trust. Second, surprisingly high institutional can be found initial phase pandemic. Simultaneously we see somewhat decreasing later include interesting variations across age, gender and education. Third, relating earlier research Sweden, contain indications stable despite all but contextual conditions. Fourth, analysis shows important among institutions layers government.
